Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa and Burbank Housing partnered to create Caritas Center, a Family Support and Homeless Services Center in downtown Santa Rosa. The comprehensive housing-focused homeless support services facility totals approximately 46,587 square feet and provides an emergency shelter, a day center, transitional living space, wraparound services, health services, and administrative offices.
Caritas Center replaces Catholic Charities’ aging facilities on Morgan and A Streets which served 2,000 people a year. This long-term solution to the crisis of homelessness in Sonoma County will help get twice as many people off the streets and into permanent housing each year.
Caritas Center has been designed with enhanced neighborhood safety and security in mind, including 24/7 onsite management, improved lighting and safety features, and inner courtyards for program participants. Project funding is coming through a variety of federal, state, and philanthropic sources.
