The Cloverdale High School John L. Allen Memorial Field Project included replacement of a dirt track with an all-weather 7-lane track and field event venue for discus/shot put, side by side triple jump and long jump, and high jump and replacement of a grass field with a synthetic turf athletic field for football and soccer. The project also included an updated storm drain system below the track and field and along the perimeter with a new retention pond, irrigation for the synthetic turf field and main irrigation lines to accommodate future needs. New LED light fixtures were installed on 4 existing light poles and two existing poles were removed. Other aspects of the project included resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement and 5000 square feet of new asphalt paving, low maintenance plantings surrounding the track and field, a 6 foot high fencing along the east side of the track to screen residences and a 4 foot high fencing along inside of track to protect field, as well as new landscaping at the stadium entrance.
