Dominican University Edgehill Mansion
Location: San Rafael, CA
Project Architect(s): Mohamad Sadriech Architects
Sq. Footage: 14,000
The historic Edgehill mansion has a long and rich history at Dominican University. Originally built in 1887 for a wealthy San Francisco local, William Babcock, the building was later sold to Dominican University in the early 1920s serving many purposes for the university since. Before the project was completed the building had been vacant since 1989 due to safety concerns. The major remodel consisted of a structural retrofit, adding safety updates/utilities, and new historically accurate siding that also meets up to date code.
